Reiki translates from Japanese into 'universal life energy' and it is a system of natural healing. This tradition was founded by Dr Mikao Usui in the early 20th century. There are many variations of Reiki, but in essence the treatments can help the body, physically, emotionally or spiritually. It is a traditional practice that is available and complimentary to any belief system. Treatment involves the practitioner gently placing their hands in a series of non-intrusive positions on or near the body. Anyone can enjoy the benefits, whether it's used alongside other conventional treatments or on its own.
We are alive because life force is flowing through us. Life force flows within the physical body though pathways called meridians (in Chinese medicine or Nadis in Yogic philosophy) and energy centers called Chakras. It also flows around us in a field of energy called the aura. Life force nourishes the organs and cells of the body, supporting them in their vital functions. When this flow of life force is disrupted, it can causes disturbances in the body, mind or soul, in the physical body it can result in diminished function in one or more of the organs and tissues of the physical body.
The life force is responsive to thoughts and feelings. It becomes disrupted when we accept, either consciously or unconsciously, negative thoughts or feelings about ourselves. These negative thoughts and feelings attach themselves to the energy field and cause a disruption in the flow of life force. This diminishes the vital function of the organs and cells of the physical body.
Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive energy. It raises the vibratory level of the energy field in and around the physical body where the negative thoughts and feelings are attached. This causes the negative energy to break apart and fall away. In so doing, Reiki clears, relines and heals the energy pathways, thus allowing the life force to flow in a healthy and natural way.
Experiences are individual. Sensations experienced from people ranged from deep relaxation to heat, tingling, seeing colours and all other emotional responses. Ultimately though, the result is and will always be a deep, anchored sense of restored balance and harmony in one's life.
All healers use life force or Ki,Chi, but not all use Reiki. Reiki is a special kind of life force that can only be channeled by someone that has been attuned to it. However, most healers who have not received the Reiki attunement from a Reiki Master are not using Reiki.
I practice Reiki in my Studio or in the comfort of your own home, it normally lasts about an hour.

Unconscious emotions, feelings and ideas
We are the bearers of different feeling provoked by the impact of the situations in which we participate directly or indirectly. Everyday we are faced with the fluctuation of the feelings we experience and which are transformed into positive or negative emotional energy which determines the direction of our mood and behaviour.
Some of the feelings we experience are available to our consciousness, while others remain hidden and misunderstood in the unconscious realm of our mental life.We often feel stuck because it's hard to know what is holding us back. Breath-work is the most powerful tool to realise and release physical, mental and emotional blockages that we may have not even known were stopping us from being happy, healthy and strong.
